Cowell 'Insulted' By Presence Of Celebrity Judges
AMERICAN IDOL panelist SIMON COWELL wants an end to celebrity judges on his hit talent search show - because he finds their presence insulting.
The show, judged by Cowell, PAULA ABDUL and RANDY JACKSON, has featured guest stints from NEIL SEDAKA, DIANE WARREN and SMOKEY ROBINSON, while BEE GEE ROBIN GIBB features next week (ends09MAY03).
But music mogul Cowell is far from pleased with their presence.
He moans, "I personally find it a bit insulting having celebrity judges on the show. To me, it's our role and nobody else's to judge these kids, because we've chosen them from the beginning."
Executive producer NIGEL LYTHGOE blames Cowell's ego, explaining, "The only time he's happy to be next to anyone is when he's leaning against a mirror."02/05/2003 02:08
