Rock heiress STELLA McCARTNEY has been presented with the COURAGE AWARD for her crusade against cancer.
The GUCCI designer, whose mother LINDA died of breast cancer in 1998, became the youngest ever recipient of the award at a ceremony at the REGENT BEVERLY WILSHIRE hotel in Los Angeles.
The event, staged by Saks Fifth Avenue and Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, raised $1.5 million (GBP1 million) for research into curing gynaecologic and breast cancers.
Previous Courage Award winners include SIR ELTON JOHN, CATHERINE ZETA-JONES and MICHAEL DOUGLAS.
Stella recently said of her mother's death, "I feel that losing my mother is a rude awakening to having to look after yourself, and that's the only positive thing that can come from losing her."
