Cosby Leads Fundraising Drive For Ray Charles Centre

Comedian BILL COSBY is leading efforts to raise funds for a new performing arts centre, to be named after soul legend RAY CHARLES.

The gala will take place on 29 September (04) at Los Angeles' Beverly Hilton, with TRAVIS TRITT, JAMES INGRAM, MICHAEL McDONALD, STEVIE WONDER, GERALD LEVERT and ANGIE STONE performing at the Cosby-hosted event.

Funds raised on the night will go to the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center, to be built at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.

In honour of the 31 August (04) release of Charles' last album, GENIUS LOVES COMPANY, the star's landmark Los Angeles studio will be open to the public for that day.
