Corin Redgrave's Condition Improving

LATEST: Critically ill actor Corin Redgrave has briefly regained consciousness and has been taken off a ventilator after suffering a heart attack last week.

The Four Weddings And A Funeral actor, famed for his left-wing views, collapsed while speaking up for travellers at Crays Hill near Billericay, Essex on Wednesday (08JUN05).

Redgrave was initially treated at Basildon Hospital, Essex, but has now been moved to a London hospital closer to his family.

He has been visited by sister Vanessa Redgrave and niece JOELY RICHARDSON.

A travellers' spokeswoman says, "The doctors said there is hope he will recover because he is regaining consciousness."
