Coogan Blasts Looks-Obsessed Hollywood

British comedy actor STEVE COOGAN has slammed Hollywood's obsession with looks - because he was forced to endure intense beauty sessions for his new movie.

Coogan, who stars alongside JACKIE CHAN in AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, was surprised by how much emphasis is placed on outward appearances in Tinseltown.

He says, "When I was in America filming, I was told to lose loads of weight, had to go on a crash diet and was put on a strict gym regime. I even had my teeth whitened.

"I couldn't believe it when they sent me to have fake tan sprayed on once a week.

"And they don't just like you to be tanned out there - they want you to be bright orange and, quite frankly, it looks ridiculous."
