Disgraced British music mogul JONATHAN KING was released from prison this
morning (29MAR05) - and promptly handed reporters copies of his new CD.
King, who discovered bands including GENESIS and 10CC, served less than
half a seven-year jail sentence for four indecent assaults and two serious
sexual offences on boys aged 14 and 15.
As he left Maidstone Prison in Kent, England, King insisted he is "100 per
cent innocent" and said his lawyer had "guaranteed" he would be cleared on
King said, "I've had a brilliant three-and-a-half years for crimes I did
"I'm innocent of the charges against me. There is no issue of the acts
being consensual, there were no acts. However much people try, you can't bend
"There's no truth in the offences whatsoever. One of the five men I am
accused of abusing I have never even met and there is no evidence I ever did
The 60-year-old will be closely monitored by a police protection panel and
is not allowed visits to his home from anyone under the age of 18 without prior
King's lawyer, GIOVANNI DE STEFANO, says, "He intends to go back to his
home in west London and get back to work. He said he wants to write a musical
about COLE PORTER."
