Comic Hit With Child Porn Charges

LATEST: British funnyman Chris Langham has been charged with 15 counts of making indecent images of children.
The BAFTA-winning star of BBC comedy series THE THICK OF IT was charged after honouring his bail appearance yesterday (10MAY06). He will appear before magistrates in Sevenoaks, England, on 17 May (06).
Langham, 57, was arrested in November (05) as part of an ongoing police inquiry into paedophile activity on the internet.
In a statement issued through his solicitors, Langham said, "I am devastated to have been charged with offences arising from a police investigation.
"I am anxious to clear my name and although there is a great deal I would like to say, I am unable to do so as a result of the legal proceedings.
"I request once again that the privacy of my family is respected and thank the media for their restraint in this regard so far."
