Movie star George Clooney is planning his most ambitious project yet - a live TV reworking of cult newsroom drama Network.

The actor, who tackles TV news in his acclaimed new film GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK, is a huge fan of Sidney Lumet's 1976 movie, starring Faye Dunaway and Peter Finch, and is keen to bring the drama to TV and air it live.

It's not the first time Clooney has been involved in such a project - he once starred in a live ER and in 2000 he executive produced and starred in a live TV version of 1964 Cold War drama FAIL SAFE.

Clooney insists he'll leave screenwriter Paddy Chayefsky's (corr) script alone but update news items with stories about modern-day terrorism.
