Clinton's Book Breaks Records On First Day
Former American President BILL CLINTON's autobiography MY LIFE has broken records after fans bought more than 400,000 copies of the book in the United States on its first day of release.
The huge opening sales figures on the much-hyped tome - which was released on Tuesday (22JUN04) - makes it the best-selling non-fiction book of all time and is double that of the previous record holder, Clinton's wife Senator HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON's book LIVING HISTORY.
Bill Clinton's book has topped the AMAZON.COM bestseller list in the United States, England, France and Japan. The audio book, an abridged version read by Clinton, sold 35,000 copies in America - also a first-day record.
But the unchallenged king of book premieres remains JK ROWLING's HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX, which sold an estimated five million copies on its opening day last year (03).24/06/2004 09:16
