Clinton: I Feel Sorry For Monica

Former American President Bill Clinton feels desperately sorry for onetime mistress MONICA LEWINSKY - and blames himself for the pressure put upon her.

The charismatic politician - who has just released his memoirs MY LIFE - is well aware of the media furore that surrounds the former White House intern, and takes full responsibility for their brief fling.

Bill says, "I feel sorry because she's been caught up in this big media imbroglio.

"(I hope) she won't be trapped in what Andy Warhol called everybody's fifteen minutes of fame. None of this would have happened if I hadn't done anything wrong, and I feel something about it."

And Clinton says he felt even worse when, after the scandal broke, his wife HILARY went on national television to defend him.

Clinton adds, "I was ashamed because she didn't know the facts."
