Clinton Speaks About Family Counselling

Former American President Bill Clinton has opened up about the family counselling he and his wife HILLARY and daughter Chelsea went through in a new TV interview.

Clinton agreed to be interviewed by respected US news reporter Dan Rather to kick start his press tour to promote his new memoir MY LIFE, and appeared on a special 60 MINUTES last night (17JUN04).

And, among the revelations, he admits he signed up for counselling sessions in a bid to try and combat the pressures on them after being America's First Family.

He told Rather, "We'd take a day a week, and we did a whole day a week every week for a year...and we did counselling. We did it together. We did it individually. We did family work."

Clinton claimed the counselling sessions helped heal his broken marriage to his politician wife - after his fling with intern Monica Lewinsky.

He also told Rather he's proud that he didn't quit as President, despite plans to impeach him for lying about his Lewinsky affair.

He said, "I never thought of resigning and I stood up to it and beat it back. The whole battle was a badge of honour."
