Claire Danes: I Turned Down Titanic And Leonardo DiCaprio

CLAIRE DANES loved filming ROMEO + JULIET with LEONARDO DiCAPRIO in 1996 but had no wish to repeat the experience for TITANIC the year after.

IGBY GOES DOWN actress Claire shot to fame in the WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE adaptation with the popular hunk, but despite repeated requests for her to co-star with him again in the nautical drama, she just wasn't interested.

She explains, "I'd just made Romeo + Juliet with him, filming in Mexico City for five months. He's a lovely man and a great actor, but I'd never have been able to get away from him. I have no regrets."
