Church Will Be Bigger Than Madonna, Says Mother

Teen soprano Charlotte Church plans on being more successful than superstar MADONNA - if her mother has her way.

Protective mum MARIA CHURCH is convinced her Voice Of An Angel daughter's new pop direction will wow audiences worldwide.

Maria says, "Charlotte admires Madonna. Now she wants to try a bit of that - but I don't think she'll stop there.

"I hope she'll be bigger than her heroine."

And Maria thinks Charlotte's new music represents her first serious work as an adult artist.

She says, "There's not a sniff of classical music on the album.

"Charlotte's moved away from the 'sweet little girl' image. She's turned into a young woman."
