Church Labelled 'Rubbish' By Rugby Bosses

Rugby star Gavin Henson had to fight for Welsh singer Charlotte Church in the early days of their romance, as his team captain slammed her as publicity-seeking "rubbish".

Henson was warned to avoid the determined advances of the CRAZY CHICK singer, but he refused to listen to their concerns.

He says, "GARETH (Wales captain Gareth Thomas) told me, 'You want to steer clear of that rubbish. She might be just out for a bit of cheap publicity.'

"As captain, he had a perfect right to be alarmed. The last thing he probably wanted was for me to go off the rails and for the team to be badly affected.

"I listened to their advice but I didn't take it."
