Christians Upset Over P.O.D.'S Naked Butterfly Woman
14 January 2004Bosses of Christian record stores across America have pulled rockers P.O.D.'s new album PAYABLE ON DEATH from shelves.
The album's cover features a naked woman sporting butterfly wings, but it wasn't the site of a bare lady that riled record store bosses.
Instead, they were upset by the word 'Sanctus', which is written on the banner covering the butterfly girl's genitals. Sanctus is the Latin term for part of the Mass service.
Ironically, P.O.D. are one of the world's biggest selling Christian rock acts.
