Chilton Ok In New Orleans

Cult rocker ALEX CHILTON is alive and well after being caught up in Hurricane Katrina in his beloved New Orleans, Louisiana.

The BIG STAR frontman was feared dead, but his manager TERRY MANNING has confirmed he's OK.

Manning tells Billboard.com that friends have reported that Chilton is now safe.

Big Star will release their first new studio album since the late 1970s later this month (SEP05).
