Caviezel Resists Blasphemous Temptations

THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST star JIM CAVIEZEL is battling his desire to cash in on the controversial movie by advertising blasphemous religious products.

The movie hunk has followed his character's example by shunning the temptations, but he admits it was difficult to turn down a lucrative commercial promoting a T-shirt company's new Heavenly line of clothing.

He says, "If I had given way on just one scheme, I would have been tempted to do more. It would have been the easiest thing in the world to make that kind of money quickly.

"That sum would secure your future but I'd never be able to forgive myself. I could see the humour in (the T-shirts) but I would have upset a lot of people who got something special from the film."

i dont get it, he's a Catholic and practically like Christianity and if he said, "I could see the humour in (the T-shirts) but I would have upset a lot of people who got something special from the film." wouldnt the movie mean something to him being Christianity like movie don't Christians and Catholics believe in the same God? Or maybe they do and he's not that devoted to Catholicism, because the movie is a true story to Christians and most Catholics so wouldnt it mean something to him also instead of not believing in it.

I, as well as many others I know, am a practicing catholic. As much as I take my beliefs seriously, I also have a sense of humour. The humour he sees in these "t-shirts" I will assume is non-threatening, and can be taken lightly as I'm sure Jesus himself (being human) had a sense of humour himself. All depends on what the t-shirts said- which for Jim.. had to be respectful enough in order for him to understand the potential "interest" for some.
