Cave Rethinks After Seeing 'Christ'
Rocker-turned-screenwriter Nick Cave was forced to rework part of his new Australian western movie after viewing The Passion Of The Christ.
The musician - who penned the screenplay for The Proposition, an epic centered on murder and betrayal in the Outback - edited a graphic torture scene after realising its cruelty was usurped in the Mel Gibson-directed Christianity epic.
He says, "Well, a head explodes, and if you shoot somebody in the head then maybe that's what happens. I wrote the whipping scene before MEL GIBSON's THE PASSION, and when I saw it, I said, ' Oh f**k, you can't whip anyone more than they whip Christ in The Passion.' So we had to think of a different way."
