Castle-Hughes Rejected By Classmates
Teen actress Keisha Castle-Hughes experienced the downside to fame following the buzz around her 2002 movie WHALE RIDER - nobody at school wanted to be her friend.
The Australian-born screen star, 15, was just 13 when she won rave reviews and scooped an OSCAR nomination in 2003 for her performance in the film.
But once she enrolled into her New Zealand high school, she immediately saw the disadvantages of her newfound Hollywood status.
She says, "For months, I had no friends. People just assumed that since I'd been in a movie, I was a big snob."
