Carey Defends Glitter Debut
Singer MARIAH CAREY has hit out at criticisms of her 2000 movie debut GLITTER.
The HONEY star insists her critically-mauled film sold plenty of DVD copies and won her several awards, for her semi-autobiographical role as BILLIE FRANK, a singer who strives to become a pop sensation.
She says, "The film may not have done well at the box office. But we picked up plenty of DVDs and I picked up one or two awards along the way."
Carey is reviving her brief acting career by playing a scantily clad beauty in the remake of JAMES BOND spoof CASINO ROYALE and by teaming up with fellow singers, PATTI LaBELLE, MISSY ELLIOTT, ALICIA KEYS and MACY GRAY for independent film LADIES' NIGHT.03/12/2004 14:17
