Campbell: America Can't Make Funny Movies

Screen siren NEVE CAMPBELL is thrilled she's making a British comedy movie - because Americans don't know how to make funny films.

The sexy actress, 29, complains Hollywood is only able to make weak romantic comedies, so she jumped at the opportunity to play QUEEN ELIZABETH in World War II spoof CHURCHILL: THE HOLLYWOOD YEARS, co-starring celebrated English comics RIK MAYALL, HARRY ENFIELD, VIC REEVES and BOB MORTIMER.

She explains, "I grew up watching a lot of British comedy. So I knew what I was letting myself in for. In America we try to make comedy and end up with romantic comedies that aren't romantic or remotely funny. It's a challenge to find good comedy in the States.

"Knowing that you're not trying to make a meaningful love story in any way means we can just be silly and fun. That to me is a much better comedy."
