Campbell Gives Up Drinking

LATEST: Country star GLEN CAMPBELL insists his arrest for drink driving has turned him into a changed man - because he no longer sups alcohol.

The WICHITA LINEMAN singer was sentenced to 10 nights in jail for the November (03) hit-and-run incident yesterday (15JUN04) and, although he's hoping the prison spell will inspire songs, he's taking the incarceration seriously.

Campbell says his arrest has already made him give up boozing.

He says, "I don't drink anymore. Alcohol is a terrible thing. I turned into this other person."
