Buffy, Will And Grace Not Indecent
American TV shows BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and WILL AND GRACE have been cleared of indecency, following complaints they contained unsuitable scenes of a sexual nature.
Complaints made by the PARENT TV COUNCIL and AMERICANS FOR DECENCY to television watchdog the FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION (FCC) were dismissed because they didn't violate guidelines.
The Parent TV Council complained about a 2001 episode from Buffy The Vampire Slayer in which characters BUFFY and SPIKE were seen having sex, while Americans For Decency were upset with a March 2003 episode of Will and Grace which showed two women simulating intercourse.
But the FCC said both programmes didn't breach indecency regulations.
The decision comes at a time when American broadcasting standards are under increased scrutiny, following JANET JACKSON's infamous SUPER BOWL breast flash on live television earlier this year (04).11/08/2004 03:13
