Buffy Star: Warner Bros Didn't Take Us Seriously

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER star ANTHONY HEAD has slammed bosses at WARNER BROS's TV division for not giving the cult show enough support.

The British actor - who played RUPERT GILES - was furious the SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR-starring show was not taken seriously by the company in its early days, despite it's potential as a TV smash hit.

And Head credits British television corporation the BBC with championing the show when it could have disappeared into TV obscurity - instead of the successful long-running series it eventually became.

He fumes, "Even Warner Bros didn't recognise the show as important. They never took it seriously, never embraced it in the way the BBC did."

The series ended after it's seventh season earlier this year (03) following a six year run.
