Brown Waited To Reprise Stone Roses Songs
Ian Brown refused to perform STONE ROSES songs solo for eight years, because he wanted to establish himself as an individual artist.
The Fool's Gold hitmaker has finally consented to the wishes of fans, and has now started playing Stone Roses songs at live gigs.
He explains the long wait to TIME OUT magazine, "It was important for me to stand on my own two feet at first. I wanted to establish myself as a music maker in my own right."
And, once he had started, Brown says the memories came rushing back: "I'd not sung those songs for eight years, but when we rehearsed it all just came out right. I was took straight back to when we wrote the tunes on the dole in 1986 and 1987."
