Brosnan Desperate To Ditch Bond Image

JAMES BOND star Pierce Brosnan is desperate to put his 'smooth as silk' image behind him and star in a bloody thriller.

The 51-year-old Irishman is keen for a change in direction after spending years playing suave characters like James Bond and REMINGTON STEEL, and hopes he'll rebel against type-casting by working with edgy directors like QUENTIN TARANTINO.

He says,"I went to America thinking I was going to be working with MARTIN SCORSESE and I was going to be doing all these great films.

"I had that 26-year-old mentality and I ended up doing Remington Steel and playing this light flare.

"I'd love to work with Tarantino, Scorsese, Barry Levinson."
