British Musicians Unite To Fight Fascism
A host of emerging British musicians have signed up to perform in London's Trafalgar Square on Saturday (29APR06) as part of a campaign against fascism. Rappers LETHAL BIZZLE and KANO, urban collective ROLL DEEP, and rockers BELLE AND SEBASTIAN and THE PADDINGTONS will all play at the free concert alongside a number of high profile speakers who will attempt to deter Britons from voting for the far-right British National Party (BNP) at the UK's local elections next month (04MAY06). The concert is being co-organised by Love Music Hate Racism and Unite Against Fascism (UAF). UAF spokesperson WEYMAN BENNET says, "It is vital we hand a knockout blow to the BNP. It will be a tragedy if fascists get a foothold in London. "We should all rally on Saturday and send a message to the fascist BNP that they are not welcome in London."
