British Jews Blast Gibson's Passion
MEL GIBSON's THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST has been slammed by the British Jewish community as being dangerous and likely to stir up anti-Semitism.
The controversial movie, about the last twelve hours of JESUS CHRIST's life, was shown to rabbis at an advance screening in London yesterday (26FEB04).
The religious leaders's disparaging comments echoed those of many of their American counterparts.
NEVILLE NAGLER of the JEWISH BOARD OF DEPUTIES says, "The glorification of violence and bloodshed and the reinforcement of medieval stereotyping of the Jewish people are extremely dangerous."02/03/2004 10:19
