Bright Eyes Star Pays Tribute To London Bomb Victims

BRIGHT EYES star CONOR OBERST has paid tribute to the victims of last Thursday's (07JUL05) terrorist attacks in London, while performing in the British capital.

The FIRST DAY OF MY LIFE singer was playing at the Somerset House venue in London on Monday (11JUL05) when he made his sympathetic comments.

He told the crowd, "I know things have been super f**ked-up around here and we've been thinking of you.

"And I know you've all been even more worried thinking about each other, but hopefully humanity won't destroy itself while we're alive. I believe in people and in love.

"People need to stop hating people, it's a big task but hopefully it can be done. We love you guys."

Last month (JUN05), Oberst was forced to apologise to British fans after making a series of rude remarks about the late DJ JOHN PEEL while performing at the Glastonbury Festival in southwest England. Oberst, who was intoxicated, had been playing on the John Peel Stage.
