Bono's Passionate Grammys Tribute To His Dad

Irish rockers U2 dedicated their performance of SOMETIMES YOU CAN'T MAKE IT ON YOUR OWN at the GRAMMY AWARDS last night (13FEB05) to the memory of frontman BONO's late father BOB HEWSON.

The rocker, wearing his trademark all black, sunglasses and a cowboy hat delivered a passionate tribute to his father, who inspired the song.

He said, "This is for my father Bob, who was a postal clerk... and he'd sing opera in the night with a beautiful tenor voice.

"I'd like to think that when he passed away that he gave that to me. I wish I'd got to know him better."

Bono ended the song with a short teary-eyed version of THE WALKER BROTHERS' NO REGRETS.
