Bono Eyes Dakota Building Move

U2 rocker BONO is planning to buy an entire floor of New York's legendary DAKOTA BUILDING - where JOHN LENNON was murdered.

The JOSHUA TREE singer has reportedly put in a bid of $59.5 million (GBP35 million) in order to purchase a whole floor of the property, which is located west of Central Park in North Manhattan.

A source says, "Bono has visited the property and a serious bid has been made on his behalf."

Lennon's widow YOKO ONO still lives in the building, despite seeing the former BEATLE being gunned down just outside it by crazed fan MARK DAVID CHAPMAN in December 1980.
