Blake Murder Case Delayed After Computer Theft
LATEST: Actor ROBERT BLAKE's murder trial will be delayed again because the defence lawyer's computer was stolen from his Los Angeles apartment on Wednesday (08DEC04).
The former BARETTA star - who stands accused of shooting his wife, BONNY LEE BAKLEY to death in May 2001 - was due in court on Monday (06DEC04) but his lawyer GERALD SCHWARTZBACH says he won't be able to defend Blake, because his computer held "the heart and soul" of the case.
Schwartzbach called the theft "a disturbing development" and said he had to "assess where I am in terms of the trial of this case" and would report to the court on Monday.
The 71-year-old actor has delayed the case several times previously, by firing his lawyers.
He remains on bail of $1.5 million (GBP810,000) and denies murdering his wife.03/12/2004 14:17
