Black: Flatulence Is Fundamental To Performing
Hollywood funnyman JACK BLACK uses flatulence as an essential part of his preparation before shooting movie scenes.
The SCHOOL OF ROCK actor was shocked when he heard JIM CARREY let rip on the set of comedy film CABLE GUY, but it made Black realise it's important to lose your inhibitions before you let the cameras roll.
He says, "I was working with Jim Carrey in Cable Guy. We were doing a scene in a basketball court and he's lying on the ground before filming.
"They shout, 'Quiet on the set... Action!' He let out the loudest fart you've ever heard. Everyone was shocked but he just carried on with the scene like nothing had happened.
"I thought, 'That's why he's so good - he doesn't care what you think. He's not embarrassed. That's what it takes'. It's a strange lesson to learn, but I try to do that now before every scene."10/10/2004 14:16
