Billy Graham Gives Gibson's Jesus Film A Boost
Mel Gibson has found unlikely support as he fights criticism about the renamed THE PASSION OF CHRIST - evangelist BILLY GRAHAM.
The film, which deals with the death of Jesus Christ and features graphic scenes of his crucifixion, has been criticised by Jewish and Catholic leaders who fear the movie will incite religious friction.
But Reverend Graham, who watched a private screening of the biblical epic with Gibson last week (ends28NOV03), was more than impressed with the film.
He says, "The film is faithful to the Bible's teaching that we are all responsible for Jesus' death, because we all have sinned."
Graham admits he was "moved to tears" by the film, which Gibson directed.
