Berry Invites Keys To Cannes

R+B beauty Alicia Keys is jetting into the Cannes Film Festival today (14MAY04) after being headhunted by OSCAR-winning actress Halle Berry.

The FALLIN' singer has been picked by Berry to star in a biopic about piano prodigy PHILIPPA SCHUYLER, the only child of GEORGE SCHUYLER, a black journalist and author, and JOSEPHINE COGDELL, a white artist and writer - which the OSCAR winner is producing herself.

An insider says, "Halle personally approached her about being in a movie.

"Alicia was honoured to be picked by such a world-renowned actress as Halle, who is someone she has looked up to and admired for years. The film is loosely autobiographical.

"While she is in Cannes, Alicia is going to have meetings with a number of directors about other film projects. Her passion is music but she's keen to use her talents in other areas too."
