Bergman Reveals Family Surprise In New Book
18 October 2004Revered movie-maker Ingmar Bergman has shocked family and friends by revealing he's the biological father of his late wife INGRID VON ROSEN's daughter Maria.
The five-times married director, 86, unleashes the revelation in his book TRE DAGBOECKER (THREE DIARIES), which is released today (18OCT04) in his native Sweden.
Bergman wed Von Rosen in 1971, 12 years after Maria was born - when Ingrid was in another marriage - and the couple had led everyone to believe he was merely the girl's stepfather.
But Bergman has used his memoirs as a platform to set the record straight - and admit he's secretly fathered a love child for 45 years.
Ingrid Von Rosen died of cancer in 1994.
