Benson Grateful For Raconteurs Fame

Rocker BRENDAN BENSON has experienced an upturn in fortune since teaming up with THE WHITE STRIPES' JACK WHITE to form THE RACONTEURS - strangers now recognise him on the street. The cult singer/songwriter, who has three acclaimed solo albums to his credit, teamed up with White and GREENHORNES bassist JACK LAWRENCE and drummer PATRICK KEELER to form The Raconteurs, who release their debut album this month (MAY06). And Benson loves his new-found fame. He says, "The other day someone recognised me on the street and asked me if I was in The Raconteurs. "I was so proud. I've always wanted to be in a band, it's as simple as that."
