Belle And Sebastian Top Scottish List
Rockers SebastiAn">Belle And Sebastian have been voted the best Scottish band of all time.
The I'M A CUCKOO stars beat off competition from Travis, Wet Wet Wet and Primal Scream to head Scots magazine The List's Best Scottish Band Of All Time poll, which was compiled from 12,000 votes cast online and by text message.
MARK ROBERTSON, The List's music editor, says, "The idea was simple - to rediscover the very best of Scottish music and the finest musical talent spanning from 70s rock through to 80s pop, right up to today's international stars.
"Everyone has strong opinions about who they believe deserves this prestigious accolade, and we wanted to open it up to the public to decide."
The Top Ten Scottish Bands are:
1. BELLE + SEBASTIAN
2. TRAVIS
3. Idlewild
4. WET WET WET
5. SENSATIONAL ALEX HARVEY BAND
6. Simple Minds
7. TEENAGE FAN CLUB
9. PRIMAL SCREAM
10. The Proclaimers.
