Beckham Dropped By Retail Giant
Soccer superstar DAVID BECKHAM has been dropped by British department store chain MARKS + SPENCERS, because his children's clothing range has flopped.
The ENGLAND captain's DB07 range was launched amid great fanfare last September (03), but it has sold so badly that bosses have announced Beckham's $3.6 million (GBP2 million) contract will not be renewed.
The range will be scrapped with immediate effect and the planned Spring 2005 selection has been ditched.
Marks + Spencer's chief executive Stuart Rose says, "The David Beckham range has not been a huge success."21/09/2004 13:58
