Beckham Causes Stir At Brooklyn's School
Soccer superstar DAVID BECKHAM is causing chaos when he drops his son BROOKLYN off at school each day - because girl pupils are refusing to attend classes in the hope they'll catch a glimpse of their idol.
Brooklyn, five, started at the Madrid, Spain-based Runnymede International Junior School last week (13SEP04), but the daily presence of his father - who plays for local team REAL MADRID - at the entrance gates is proving a major distraction for his starstruck fans.
A teacher says, "We have a slight problem in that we can't get our female pupils in for the morning register.
"They come in extra early and wait at the gates for David Beckham to arrive. We have had to put several of them in detention for screaming at the poor man.
"He's been very good and signed autographs for them though."19/09/2004 21:19
