Beckham Blasts Affair Reports

Soccer ace David Beckham has furiously rubbished reports he had an affair with his personal assistant, labelling the claims "ludicrous".

British tabloid THE NEWS OF THE WORLD yesterday (04APR04) reported the REAL MADRID star turned to 26-year-old Rebecca Loos after becoming frustrated with wife Victoria Beckham's reluctance to set up home with him in Spain.

The newspaper also printed explicit cellphone text messages it claimed were sent between the sporting star and his then employee.

But angry Beckham insists he's happily married to the former SPICE GIRL and has attacked the media for relentlessly publishing lies about him and his family.

In a statement Beckham says, "During the past few months I have become accustomed to reading more and more ludicrous stories about my private life. What appeared this morning is just one further example.

"The simple truth is that I am very happily married, have a wonderful wife and two very special kids (Brooklyn and ROMEO). There is nothing that any third party can do to change these facts."
