Beckham Bids Tearful Farewell To Brooklyn At School Gates

Soccer superstar David Beckham found dropping his son off at school for the first time so traumatic yesterday (13SEP04), he started crying.

The Real Madrid ace was taking five-year-old Brooklyn to his new $2,340 (GBP1,300) per term English language school in the Spanish capital when the little boy burst into tears.

And Beckham found the emotional moment overbearing, and he shed a tear himself as he walked away.

An onlooker says, "The occasion was too much for Brooklyn and he started crying.

"David carried him through the gates, but the emotion got to him too. He had tears in his own eyes as he left and put a hand to his face to stop himself from crying."

Beckham's wife, former SPICE GIRL VICTORIA, remained in the family's car while her husband dropped Brooklyn off, but she returned to the school later to collect her firstborn child.
