Beatles Generating Millions - 25 Years On

Legendary group THE Beatles are generating millions of dollars in royalties - even though they split 25 years ago.

APPLE CORPS, which handles the All You Need Is Love quartet's joint business interests, has announced annual profits of $2.7 million (GBP1.4 million) with a turnover of $22.4 million (GBP11.8 million) for the last financial year.

Despite overall profits falling by $380,000 (GBP200,000) from the previous year (03), Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, and the widows of John Lennon and GEORGE HARRISON - YOKO ONO and OLIVIA HARRISON - received higher payments for promotional services.

They each received $3.2 million (GBP1.7 million).
