BEATLES fans will now have a visitor centre in the band's hometown of Liverpool, after local authorities agreed to fund the project in PENNY LANE.
Tourism chiefs in the British city have been keen to capitalise on their famous sons for years but have never had the appropriate backing to create something of note - until now.
Now, Liverpool City Council is giving over part of the local Grove Mount playing fields to the Penny Lane Development Trust, which has drawn up a $5.5 million (GBP2.89 million) plan to create a Beatles visitor centre.
Officials hope to build a restaurant, bar, a Beatle store and a recording studio in the complex.
