Beastie Boys Urge Fans To Reject Forced Labour Products
The Beastie Boys are urging fans to avoid buying goods made in countries where workers are forced into labour.
The rap trio - MCA, AD-ROCK and MIKE D - have openly blasted nations like China for ordering their citizens to work long hours for minimal pay, and encourage shoppers to consider where an electrical appliance was made before they purchase it.
But they concede it's impossible to completely shun the offending items.
Mike D says, "It's not so much, 'Don't buy anything from China,' just really you should have an awareness of everything you consume. So if people are being forced into labour to make something, maybe you think about that before buying it, but you just do the best you can.
"We all have refrigeration and our refrigerators have some stuff in them that have been made in China."
