Beart Missed Out On Bowie Film
French movie star EMMANUELLE BEART almost made it big in Hollywood long before her MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE breakthrough, when she was spotted by an associate of director ROBERT ALTMAN in a club.
The actress was 15 when a talent scout working for GOSFORD PARK film-maker Altman spotted her dancing in a Montreal, Canada, club on a night out with pals, and asked her if she'd be interested in working for his boss.
She recalls, "I had no idea who was (sic) Robert Altman. He gave me his card. Actually, it was the family I was working with told me, 'You have to go.'
"We signed, I think, a contract. It was with DAVID BOWIE and GERALDINE CHAPLIN, and the movie never happened."31/08/2004 09:13
