Barry White: Remember Me As The Best
Late music legend BARRY WHITE wanted to be remembered as one of the all time great soul singers.
White, who died of kidney failure on Friday (4JUL03), aged 58, said he wanted to be "the best that did it" in one of his final interviews, while tributes have praised the long-running star for his desire to "mesmerise" his audience.
In a final interview, the LET THE MUSIC PLAY crooner said, "I want to be remembered as the man who made music. I want to be known as one of the best that did it."
Meanwhile sixties soul singer SAM MOORE has praised White, saying, "He didn't have to do like the average, jumping all over the stage. He could just stand there with his big orchestra and he could just mesmerise."06/07/2003 14:05
