Doctor Who - Barrowman To Wed Partner

DOCTOR WHO star JOHN BARROWMAN will follow in the footsteps of newly married SIR ELTON JOHN by formalising his relationship with SCOTT GILL - his partner of 10 years.

Bisexual Barrowman, who plays CAPTAIN JACK in the time-travel BBC1 drama, insists the affair will be short and simple, and will not be called a 'marriage'.

He says, "We're just going to sign the civil register. We're not going to have any ceremony because I'm not a supporter of the word marriage for a gay partnership."

Barrowman and his architect partner also plan to have a baby together, with the help of a female friend.

He adds, "The daughter of a very, very old friend offered to carry a child for us. I've known her since she was five or six.

"She has kids of her own but said that if we wanted a child she'd be happy to do it."
