Barkin Blasts 'Sad' Stars

Ageing sex symbol ELLEN BARKIN has blasted Hollywood's "silly girls" who refuse to grow old gracefully, urging them to use herself, MICHELLE PFEIFFER, MERYL STREEP and GLENN CLOSE as their examples.

THE BIG EASY star, who is still sexy at 51, admits she's sick of seeing 30 and 40-something celebrities trying to dress 10 years younger in a desperate attempt to appear youthful on red carpets and at parties.

She says, "Some still dress like 28-year-olds. I feel sad when I see a 46-year-old walk down a red carpet in a dress I want to see only on CHARLIZE THERON or ANGELINA JOLIE.

"Women in the generation before me led the way - Meryl Streep, JESSICA LANGE, Glenn Close... They said, 'We're going to grow up; be beautiful, talented and mature, and we're not going to disappear or dress like LIL' KIM."
