Barbra Streisand's Eerie Message From Dead Father
Barbra Streisand is convinced her dead father drove her to create movie epic YENTL after an eerie message from beyond the grave led her to check out his tombstone.
The diva admits she grew up feeling very close to her dad EMANUEL, even though he died when she was just one-year-old, and, after visiting his grave, she realised he'd helped her make a lot of important career decisions.
Streisand was compelled to visit her father's grave after he tried to communicate with her at a seance her brother organised at his home in Long Island, and spelled out 'S-O-R-R-Y' and 'S-I-N-G P-R-O-U-D.'
She says, "I was in my 30s and I had never been to my father's grave in Long Island. I said, 'I really want to visit his grave.' I went to the cemetery, and the only picture I have with my father is my arm around his tombstone.
"A week later my brother sent me the picture of me with my arm around the tombstone. I didn't even see this at first; my assistant did. He said, 'Look at the tombstone next to your father's.'
"The name on the tombstone next to my father's is ANCHEL, which is the name of the dead brother that I take in the story (Yentl)."
